Clear skies, light dust as stable conditions persists across Iraq
BAGHDAD – Weather conditions across Iraq remained stable on Thursday, with temperatures holding steady compared to the previous day, the Meteorological Authority reported.
The agency attributed the stable conditions to a weakening in the influence of the surface thermal low, resulting in mostly clear skies nationwide. High, scattered clouds were observed over parts of the Kurdistan Region.
Temperatures were described as moderate during the night and early morning hours, rising to warm or relatively hot levels during the day.
Northwesterly winds are expected to blow at moderate speeds ranging from 20 to 30 kilometers per hour, occasionally strengthening in central and southern regions. These gusts may stir light dust, particularly in desert areas, the report added.
Horizontal visibility across the country generally ranges between 8 and 10 kilometers but may drop to between 5 and 7 kilometers in areas affected by dust.
