Clear skies, slight temperature rise expected Wednesday
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Meteorological Authority reported that weather conditions will remain mostly clear across the country on Wednesday, with a slight rise in temperatures in some areas.
The authority said in its daily bulletin that “the weather will be generally clear with scattered clouds in the northern region and parts of the central region.” It added that conditions will be moderate during the morning and night, with warmer weather expected in the afternoon.
Winds are forecast at 30 kilometers per hour in central and southern governorates, with lighter breezes in the north. Visibility will range between 6 and 8 kilometers in most areas, improving by evening.
Temperatures are expected to reach 37°C in Baghdad, 39°C in Basra, and 31°C in Sulaymaniyah. Najaf, Karbala, and Diwaniyah are forecast at 37°C, while Mosul will see highs around 34°C. The southern governorates of Maysan, Dhi Qar, and Muthanna are expected to range between 38 and 40°C.
The authority said skies will remain clear in the coming days, with gradual temperature increases heading into the weekend.
