Islamic Dawa Party condemns killing of Houthi prime minister in Israeli strike

BAGHDAD — The Islamic Dawa Party, led by Nouri Al-Maliki, denounced the assassination of the Houthi government’s prime minister in Yemen following an Israeli airstrike, calling it “a blatant violation of international laws and norms.”

The party urged regional actors and public opinion to “take a responsible stance and put an end to Israeli arrogance,” warning of perceived efforts to “subjugate, topple, and dominate the region through brute force, killing, and destruction.”

The strike, confirmed by the Houthis, killed Ahmed al‑Rahawi, the prime minister of the Houthi-controlled government in Sanaa, along with several senior ministers during a routine government workshop. The attack, part of a broader Israeli–U.S. campaign, marked the death of the highest-ranking Houthi official since hostilities intensified.

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

“And if you are killed in the cause of Allah or die—then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than what they accumulate.”

The Islamic Dawa Party strongly condemns the assassination of the Prime Minister of Change and Construction in steadfast Yemen, along with a number of ministers and public servants, considering it a blatant violation of international laws and norms, and a disregard for regional security and peace.

The usurping entity has declared war on the countries and peoples of the region, continuing its daily military aggression in Syria and its countryside, and in southern Lebanon. Its forces also persist in expanding the war on Gaza and its people, preventing the delivery of food supplies, starving its population, and displacing them. This imposes a moral and humanitarian responsibility on the peoples of the world in the face of this human extermination and mass famine.

The countries and peoples of the region are called to take a responsible stance and put an end to Israeli arrogance, which is destroying states one after another and carrying out a plan that is no longer hidden: to subjugate, topple, and dominate the region through brute force, killing, and destruction.
