Iraq’s election commission extends application deadline for polling staff

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission on Tuesday extended the application deadline for polling staff positions until July 20.

The commission urged applicants to “expedite the submission of application forms to the nearest registration center before the deadline.” It added that complaints regarding the application process or form submission can be filed through the commission’s official social media platforms.

IHEC opened applications in early June ahead of Iraq’s sixth parliamentary election, scheduled for Nov. 11, 2025.

Commission spokesperson Jumana Al-Ghalai previously told 964media that each governorate has a dedicated application link, allowing residents to apply based on their place of residence.

To qualify, applicants must be between the ages of 19 and 55 and reside in the same governorate where they are applying. Priority will be given to current public sector employees.
