Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq official: Iran doesn’t need Iraqi faction support in current conflict

BAGHDAD — A senior figure in Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq, one of Iraq’s most powerful Iran-aligned armed groups, said Sunday that Iran does not require military support from Iraqi factions following the recent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Salam Al-Jazairi, a member of the group’s political bureau, made the remarks in an interview with Iraq’s Al-Rasheed TV, marking the faction’s first official response to the escalation between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

“Iran does not currently need the resistance factions — the war is technological,” Al-Jazairi said, emphasizing that Iran was equipped to manage the conflict without additional armed intervention from its regional allies.

Al-Jazairi also criticized Iraq’s ties with Washington, saying, “Iraq is not a friend of the United States… Iran is our strategic ally.” He framed Iran as essential to maintaining regional balance, while portraying Israel as faltering under internal and external pressure.

“The occupying entity [Israel] is very weak, and there is immense pressure on Netanyahu to find a way out,” he said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Iran thwarted an Israeli plot to overthrow the regime on the first day of the bombardment.”

The comments come amid heightened tensions following coordinated U.S. strikes on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities. Iran has since launched retaliatory attacks against Israel, and Iraqi airspace remains closed to civilian traffic due to ongoing security threats across the region.

Some excerpts of Al-Jazairi”s interview on Al-Rasheed TV:

Iraq is not a friend of the United States… Iran is our strategic ally.

The occupying entity is very weak, and there is immense pressure on Netanyahu to find a way out.

Iran does not currently need the resistance factions — the war is technological.

There is no decision or interest in entering the resistance front — but that does not mean we will remain idle.

We do not get dragged by Israel, as it seeks a full-scale war involving everyone.

Iran’s allied nations are ready to join in — this is an existential war.

If a broad front opens, Israel will be completely eliminated.

Iran thwarted an Israeli plot to overthrow the regime on the first day of the bombardment.

The presence of Mossad agents in Iran is due to its vast geography and diverse demographics.

Israel did not expect Iran to possess this many missiles.

Just as Imam Ali removed the gate of Khaybar, his Iranian descendants brought down the Iron Dome.

Iran launched the “Jahannam” missile, which destroyed an entire neighborhood undetected by radar.

The Islamic Resistance has tactics, and Iran has been manufacturing missiles for 40 years.

The world has realized that the “reckless Trump” and his spoiled son Netanyahu are the real criminals.

Iran has the right today to target Israel’s Dimona reactor [in Israel].

The factions are ready and await the signal from the Supreme Leader [Ali Khamenei].

Iran is never left alone, and we are not afraid to declare our beliefs.

The Israeli captivity will come at the hands of the “Leader and Guide [Ali Khamenei].”
