Ammar Al-Hakim warns US strikes on Iran could lead to full-scale war
BAGHDAD — Ammar Al-Hakim, head of Iraq’s Wisdom Movement, issued a strong condemnation of the overnight U.S. strikes on Iran, warning that the consequences could lead to a wider conflict affecting both the region and the world.
“We express our deep regret and strong condemnation of the U.S. attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, an act that places the region and the world—along with their security and stability—on the edge of dangerous developments,” Hakim said in a statement released Sunday.
Hakim described the strikes as “clear violations of international norms and laws,” and issued a direct warning about the potential fallout. “We warn of their grave consequences, which could drag the region and the world into a full-scale war,” he said.
The United States entered the conflict overnight by launching coordinated air and sea strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan—reportedly using B‑2 stealth bombers with bunker‑buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles. U.S. President Donald Trump hailed the mission as a “spectacular military success” and said Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity had been “completely obliterated”. Iran subsequently launched missiles at Israeli cities.

We express our deep regret and strong condemnation of the U.S. attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, an act that places the region and the world—along with their security and stability—on the edge of dangerous developments.
As we denounce these assaults, which clearly violate international norms and laws, we warn of their grave consequences, which could drag the region and the world into a full-scale war.
We also urge international organizations, including the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, not to remain passive in the face of these violations. We call on them to act swiftly and decisively to take binding measures on all parties to contain the situation and to halt the Israeli occupation’s continued aggression and breach of international agreements, in order to prevent the crisis from expanding further.
May God protect the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people, and safeguard all our Arab and Islamic nations from harm.
