Iraq to wear green kits in final qualifier against Jordan

NEWSROOM — Iraq’s national soccer team will wear green kits when they face Jordan, who will be in white, in their final match of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Iraqi Football Association said Monday.

The match is set for Tuesday at Amman International Stadium. During a pre-match technical meeting in the Jordanian capital, officials finalized logistics and uniform selections for both teams.

Although Iraq did not clinch one of the two automatic qualification spots from Group B — which went to South Korea and Jordan — they secured third place with 12 points and will advance to the playoff round. Details for the next stage have yet to be announced.

Iraqi Football Association President Adnan Darjal previously apologized to the public after Iraq’s 2-0 home loss to South Korea ended their hopes of direct qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, vowing that the team will bounce back in the playoff round.
