Al-Sudani meets Finnish envoy, Nokia executives to discuss tech collaboration
BAGHDAD — Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met Monday with Finnish Ambassador Anu Saarela and a delegation of Nokia executives to discuss cooperation in telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure development, according to a statement from his media office.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Monday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Iraq, Ms. Anu Saarela, accompanied by a delegation representing executive directors of Nokia, the Finnish company specializing in telecommunications and information technology.
During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, particularly in the fields of information technology and advanced digital technologies. The Nokia delegation presented a detailed overview of the company’s programs and plans to support the digital transformation project, along with its services in artificial intelligence and 5G communications.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq’s commitment to continued coordination with Nokia to ensure the development of infrastructure needed for digital transformation across government institutions and various sectors.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has laid the groundwork for necessary legislation and established centers dedicated to advancing these technologies and making the required tools available. He also noted that Iraq introduced key initiatives related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence during the recent Arab Summit.
