Motorcyclist killed, passenger injured in Daquq crash
KIRKUK — A crash in Daquq district, Kirkuk Governorate, involving a motorcycle and a Kia vehicle has left one person dead and another injured, local health authorities said Saturday.
Farman Nashaat, director of Daquq General Hospital, told 964media that the incident occurred Friday when a Kia vehicle exited a residential alley onto a main road and collided with a high-speed motorcycle carrying two individuals.
Both riders sustained injuries and were transported to Daquq General Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, the motorcycle rider was later transferred to Azadi Hospital in Kirkuk. Nashaat said the rider suffered multiple skull fractures, internal bleeding, and severe head trauma.
The rider, identified as 27-year-old Hussein Fallah, a resident of Daquq and an employee of Iraq’s Ministry of Interior, died from his injuries on Saturday, Nashaat confirmed. The second passenger remains hospitalized in stable condition and under medical observation.
