Iraq’s Al-Nujaba Movement condemns US strikes in Yemen
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Al-Nujaba Movement condemned the U.S. airstrikes in Yemen, accusing Washington of “oppression” and “aggression.” In a statement issued Sunday, the armed group, which is part of Iranian-led so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, declared that “the American presence in the region has brought nothing but calamities, killing, displacement, and extermination.” It warned that U.S. “aggression will not continue.”
On March 15, the United States launched air strikes on Yemen’s Houthi rebels. This action was in response to the Houthis’ repeated attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea. The strikes resulted in at least 31 people deaths and over 100 injuries, according to Houthi health officials.
Statement from Al-Nujaba Movement:
Today and tomorrow, we declare it openly: the American presence in the region has brought nothing but calamities, killing, displacement, and the extermination of its inhabitants. This region has never seen good or stability under the rule of the state of oppression, destruction, and plundering of resources wherever it sets foot.
Following the ceasefire in the proud land of Gaza and the beginning of de-escalation by the Axis of Resistance—an effort to facilitate the delivery of aid to the annihilated and oppressed people of Gaza, in accordance with the commitments of the guarantor states—we now witness the duplicity of America, the sponsor of terrorism, exposing its malice and vileness.
Today, it attacks Yemen—the land of steadfastness, heroism, and dignity—while playing the role of protector and defender of the Zionist criminal, all while turning a blind eye to the children of Palestine and the genocide occurring there. This reckless and blatant aggression, the ugliest manifestation of oppression, will not continue and will not break the dignity and resilience of free nations.
We will see, and you will see. We will hear, and you will hear. And in the end, the righteous shall prevail.
