Najaf authorities destroy 10 tons of expired nuts and spices
NAJAF — Najaf’s Southern Health Inspection Division confiscated and destroyed more than 10 tons of expired nuts and spices Monday during an inspection campaign in the Al-Quds neighborhood, according to a statement from the division.
In the statement, Aqil Al-Abbasi, head of the division, quoted to say, “In an effort to ensure the safety and security of food in the governorate, the Health Inspection Division of our southern sector continues its inspection campaigns on commercial stores and food warehouses in the Al-Quds neighborhood.”
The campaign was conducted in cooperation with National Security forces and resulted in the seizure and destruction of an estimated 10 tons of food products, spices and nuts that were “unfit for human consumption.”
