Man, Wife, and Three Daughters Die After Car Falls Into North Al-Jazeera Irrigation Project in Nineveh

Four confirmed dead from same family as car plunges into Tal Afar irrigation project
NINEVEH – A car plunged into the North Al-Jazeera Irrigation Project in the Rabia sub-district of Tal Afar on Thursday evening, resulting in the deaths of a of four people from one family, with a fifth presumed drowned, a security source confirmed to 964media.
“The accident occurred Thursday evening in western Nineveh when the vehicle fell into the North Al-Jazeera Irrigation Project,” the source said. “[A man], his wife, and three of his daughters lost their lives.”
Rescue teams recovered four bodies from the irrigation system, while efforts continue to locate the fifth person, the source added.
The North Al-Jazeera Irrigation Project is a major agricultural infrastructure system in Nineveh Governorate, designed to provide irrigation water to farmlands in Rabia and surrounding areas. Launched in the early 1990s, the project sustained extensive damage during the ISIL occupation, halting farming activities in the region.
