Police in Zakho arrest suspect for stealing $20,000 “after 30 minutes" of report
Zakho police arrest man for $20,000 cash theft, say suspect caught within ’30 minutes’
Zakho — Late Monday night, police in Zakho, Duhok Governorate, arrested a young man accused of stealing $20,000 in cash just 30 minutes after the crime was reported.
“This crime was committed by a young man who stole $20,000 in cash from a safe,” Ahmed Ramazan, spokesperson for Zakho Police, told 964media. “However, after 30 minutes of investigation, we managed to apprehend the suspect.”
Ramazan confirmed that the suspect was detained before he could use or hide the stolen money, which has since been recovered and is now in police custody. The suspect has been handed over to the court for further legal proceedings.
On January 13, police in Zakho arrested four individuals accused of stealing a safe filled with money. The suspects were apprehended, and the stolen safe was successfully recovered.
