BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani held a phone call with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday, discussing bilateral relations and regional stability.

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of strengthening productive partnerships between Iraq and the UAE to promote mutual development goals and shared interests. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional developments, stressing the need for joint Arab coordination in addressing challenges.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani held a phone discussion on Monday with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, addressing bilateral relations between the two nations and exploring ways to strengthen them across various fields. The conversation emphasized productive partnerships that support developmental programs and mutual interests, alongside discussions on developments in the region.

The call included an exchange of views on Arab efforts to stabilize Syria, with references to Iraq’s contributions at the Aqaba Summit discussions on the matter. Prime Minister al-Sudani stressed the necessity of aligning Arab efforts and fostering joint coordination to support the Syrian people during this critical phase.

Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to supporting de-escalation and regional stability, underlining the importance of intensified humanitarian efforts to provide relief to the people of Gaza, halt the aggression against the Palestinian people, and prevent the conflict from further escalating in the region. He also highlighted the need to consolidate the ceasefire in Lebanon to maintain stability.
