Nechirvan Barzani issues tribute to Jalal Talabani

ERBIL, October 3 — President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, affirmed on Tuesday, on the anniversary of the death of former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, the necessity of unity, understanding, and cooperation to resolve issues and protect the public interest in Iraq.

He also expressed his appreciation for Talabani’s struggle for the freedom and rights of the Kurdistan and Iraqi people.

In a post to his official account on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, President Barzani said:

“Today, on the anniversary of the passing of the late President Mam Jalal, we look with all respect and appreciation at his struggle for the freedom and rights of the Kurdistan and Iraqi people. On this occasion, I would like to emphasize the importance of unity, understanding, and cooperation, as these were the goals and living will of President Mam Jalal. May his soul rest in peace.”
