Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani presided today over the International Volunteer Day celebration held in Baghdad, during which winners of the National Giving Award from across Iraq’s provinces were honored.
In his speech at the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this day dedicated to recognizing the value of volunteerism and supporting the efforts, contributions, and sacrifices of volunteers. He emphasized that volunteering embodies humanity at its finest, where individuals rise above challenges to serve noble goals, dedicating their energy to achieving higher humanitarian objectives and creating inspiring stories.
The Prime Minister reflected on the crucial role volunteers played in supporting government efforts during the fight against ISIS, whether by taking up arms or providing services to displaced persons during the liberation efforts, demonstrating resilience in the face of extreme hardships. He also commended the Higher Youth Council for its contributions to youth empowerment and expressed his gratitude for being part of this celebration of International Volunteer Day.
