Three arrested on terrorism warrants in Diyala and Anbar
BAGHDAD — Military intelligence units arrested three people in separate operations in Diyala and Anbar, the Military Intelligence Directorate said, all of them wanted under existing warrants issued under the Anti-Terrorism Law.
The arrests followed intelligence gathering and ambushes by intelligence and security units, the directorate said, and the three have been handed to the relevant authorities. It did not say when or where in the governorates the operations took place or what the men are accused of.
Two men were arrested in Diyala in mid-August under warrants issued under Article 4/1 of the same law, and a Karbala court last week sentenced an Islamic State member to 15 years for planning attacks on pilgrims during Arbaeen.
