Saudi ambassador expresses desire to strengthen relations during meeting

BAGHDAD, October 1 — Saudi Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Shamri conveyed his country’s desire to expand various relations between Baghdad and Riyadh during a meeting with the Iraqi Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, on Sunday.

A statement from the Ministry of Finance, received by Network 964, reported:

“Today, Sunday, Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, received at the ministry’s headquarters the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Baghdad, Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Shamri, and his accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Finance Minister welcomed the Ambassador, emphasizing the strength of the cooperation between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She highlighted the continuous development and growth in various fields, particularly in financial and economic aspects, along with discussions about promising investment opportunities in Iraq.

Ambassador Al-Shamri expressed his government’s eagerness to enhance constructive cooperation with Iraq, expand Iraqi-Saudi relations, exchange expertise, and explore new prospects to boost the economic situation.”
