Al-Sudani offers condolences to Lebanese parliament speaker, calls for global action
BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani spoke with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Monday, expressing condolences for the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. During the call, Al-Sudani discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and Gaza, urging the international community to step in and help stop the ongoing conflicts. He emphasized Iraq’s support for Lebanon and called for coordinated global and regional efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani had a phone conversation today, Monday, with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri. During the phone call, Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his condolences once again to Lebanon for the martyrdom of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his comrades.
They discussed the latest developments in the region and the ongoing Arab, regional, and international efforts to stop the brutal Zionist aggression against Lebanon and the genocide being waged on Gaza.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s support for these efforts and any initiative that would end the war and establish security and stability in the region. He reiterated Iraq’s commitment to supporting the resilience of the Lebanese people in their ordeal, providing all humanitarian and service assistance necessary to help them overcome the effects of the war and destruction and to strengthen the unity of the Lebanese people against threats and aggression.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the international community assuming its humanitarian and legal responsibilities in preventing the continuation of the aggression, as well as the role of international institutions and major powers in protecting the lives of people and ensuring their safety.
