Basra fishermen discover shark in the southern marshes

BASRA, September 21 — Fishermen in the Basra discovered a shark this week in a surprising area that marks the beginning of the Euphrates River, adjacent to the southern marshes.

964’s correspondent in Basra met with the fishermen, who explained that they were attempting to catch shrimp when they were surprised to find a dead shark caught in their nets.

The area where the shark was discovered is approximately 200 kilometers away from the shores of the Gulf where sharks are known to live.
