18-year-old arrested for $6,400 theft in Deralok subdistrict

DUHOK — An 18-year-old youth was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly stealing $6,400 from a home in the Deralok subdistrict of Duhok governorate.

Hemin Sleman, director of public relations for the Duhok police, announced on his Facebook page on Tuesday that following the theft, Deralok Police Station investigated the case and apprehended the suspect within 24 hours.

The suspect was born in 2006. Authorities confirmed the stolen amount as $6,400.

The individual has been charged under Article 444 of the Iraqi Penal Code, which pertains to theft, and investigations are ongoing.
