Government announces official holiday to mark the Prophet’s birthday

BAGHDAD, September 21 — The General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers announced on Thursday an official holiday for all government ministries and institutions on Wednesday, September 27, to mark the birth of the Prophet Mohammed.

A statement from the General Secretariat, read:

It has been decided to suspend official work on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in all government ministries and institutions, in conjunction with the celebration of the birth of the Master of Creation and the Messenger of Mercy, Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).
