Iraq table tennis competition begins in Erbil

ERBIL, September 14 — The Iraq Table Tennis Clubs League competition for men and women commenced on Thursday at the Akkad Club in the city of Erbil. This gathering represents the second phase of league competitions, following the first phase that took place in Najaf.

Mohammed Al-Hasani, the Media Officer of the Iraq Table Tennis Federation reported that 14 clubs from various Iraqi governorates are competing to qualify for the third round of the competition, which will bring together the top eight qualifying teams and includes professional players.

The top three teams in the third round will advance to the Arab Club Championship scheduled to be held in Lebanon at the end of this year. The women’s league in this gathering features professional players from Iran and Egypt.
