MERGASOR – All tourist and commercial activities at the Zit international border gate between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey will be suspended for six days due to road maintenance, authorities announced. The closure will begin on July 4, 2024, and last until July 9, 2024.

“During this period, all forms of travel and commercial activities will be halted,” the gate’s authorities stated. Normal tourist and commercial traffic will resume on July 10, 2024.

Travelers are urged to complete their journeys, and traders are advised to arrange their transactions before the road closure begins.

The Zit international border gate, located in the Sherwan Mezin subdistrict of the Mergasor district, was opened on May 10, 2023, and serves as a new crossing point between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey.
