Iraq is removing opposition groups from border with Iran, says FM
BAGHDAD, September 12 — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced on Tuesday that the country has taken necessary measures to remove Iranian opposition groups from border regions.
Hussein confirmed that he will visit Tehran on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries. During a press conference with his Austrian counterpart, Hussein stated that the Iraqi constitution does not permit any party to use Iraqi territory to launch attacks on neighboring countries, emphasizing Iraq’s commitment to the security agreement with Iran.
