Najaf shop offers free refreshments to municipal workers during scorching summer heat
NAJAF — Harith Al-Khalidi, the owner of Ibn Tuwair Juices and Ice Cream in Najaf, has launched an initiative offering free juices, ice cream, and cold water to municipal workers to help them cope with the scorching summer heat.
Displayed prominently on a large sign outside the shop, the initiative is designed to support the city’s “cleanliness engineers” as they work in often extreme temperatures.
“This initiative is for the cleanliness workers in Najaf, and it is the least we can offer them during these days of high temperatures,” Al-Khalidi said. “I hope the municipal workers in the old city near Imam Ali’s shrine visit us; we are honored to serve them,” he told 964media.
Al-Khalidi also called on other shop owners to launch similar programs to assist those laboring under the intense sun, including various other groups.
