Fire in Duhok village controlled by Peshmerga
SARSING – A fire broke out earlier today in the village of Siaratika within the Sarsing district of Duhok province, burning approximately six dunums of land (1.5 acres) before being controlled by Environmental Protection Peshmerga forces.
The blaze, which destroyed numerous trees, including walnut, willow, fig, mulberry, pomegranate, and apricot, was reportedly caused by five tourists. Ramazan Siari, spokesperson for the Environmental Protection Peshmerga in Amedi, told 964media that the Peshmerga forces determined that the tourists, all from Mosul, were responsible for the fire.
The five suspects have been detained and will be handed over to security forces for legal proceedings and further investigation, Siari added.
