Court sentences online extortionist to six years in prison

KIRKUK, September 5 — The Kirkuk Criminal Court issued a six-year prison sentence on Tuesday to a suspect charged with sharing a young girl’s unauthorized photos and videos on social media.

A statement from the judiciary’s press office said:

The center’s correspondent reported that “the extortionist shared photos, videos, and conversations that occurred between him and the victim on social media and sent them to the victim’s family because she did not comply with his indecent requests.

The court issued the verdict based on the provisions of Article 430/1 of Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, as amended.
