Massive fire engulfs warehouses along Erbil-Kirkuk highway

ERBIL – A massive fire erupted along the Erbil-Kirkuk highway on March 27, near the village of Morteke, engulfing around eight warehouses.

Firefighters are currently battling the blaze, which began in a tissue warehouse and quickly spread to nearby facilities storing plastic materials, furniture, and laundry machines.

The site of the fire is a bustling commercial and industrial center, housing numerous warehouses and factories.

Currently, four firefighting teams are on-site, striving to contain the fire, which continues to intensify.

Specialized investigative teams are assessing the cause of the fire and estimating potential damages, as the situation unfolds.
