Kirkuk plans to open shelter for the homeless and abused

KIRKUK, July 26 — Provincial authorities in Kirkuk convened a meeting with civilian and police officials on Monday to discuss plans to open a shelter for the homeless and abused.

According to a statement issued by Kirkuk governorate’s press office read:

“Governor Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri met with the Kirkuk Police Chief, Major General Kawa Ghareeb, to discuss the necessary provisions and requirements to open a shelter for abused and homeless individuals in the province. The shelter will be operated by the Family and Child Protective Services Department under the leadership of the province’s police force. The meeting was attended by Dr. Imad Al-Daham, the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Ms. Intisar Abdullah, the Director of Women’s Empowerment, and several officers from the security agencies.”
