Iraqi fighter Raed Abbas clinches victory in CFL International Championship

SULAYMANIYAH — In a display of skill and determination, Raed Abbas from Haditha, Anbar governorate, secured a victory in the first round against his Iranian opponent, Kahraman Zuhair, at the CFL International Championship. The event took place at the Ali Saleh arena in Sulaymaniyah, spotlighting mixed martial arts talent from around the globe.

“Raed Abbas, representing the Haditha Youth Forum, showcased his fighting prowess in what was his debut on the international stage,” according to his coach, Osman Ayyad. Ayyad emphasized the significance of this win not only for Abbas but also for the entire team and the local community. “This is our first participation in global competitions,” Ayyad stated, reflecting on the event organized by the Kurdistan Sports Center.

The championship attracted participants from over 12 countries, including Turkey, Iran, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and various European nations, highlighting its status as a premier event for professional fighters. Dedicating the victory to Iraq and the beloved city of Haditha, the team expressed their pride and joy.
