New private hospital in Kut focuses on affordable medical care

WASIT, August 26 — The Al-Dijla Private Hospital opened this week in Kut, featuring 65 beds and 10 advanced operating rooms, as well as services priced according to local residents’ living standards and purchasing power.

“We hope that the private hospitals won’t negatively impact the performance and availability of doctors in government hospitals, especially as they already have limited time. The governorate also needs more doctors to address the shortage.”

“We anticipate relatively higher prices due to the modern equipment of the hospital. We hope that financially disadvantaged citizens won’t be the ones affected.”

Mohammed Qasim, Director of Al-Dijla Hospital, told 964:

“The private hospital was constructed on a 1,691 m2 area, housing 65 patient rooms and 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, as well as 15 medical departments encompassing surgery, cardiology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, and liver specialties.”

“The hospital has been equipped by reputable international companies from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Japan. We’ve brought in the latest medical technologies from around the world.”

“We promise the people of Wasit top-notch medical care and aim to establish new medical departments and specialties to serve the local community.”

Wasit’s Governor also spoke to 964 on the sidelines of the hospital’s opening ceremony:

“We call on the hospital management to consider the citizens’ living conditions and ensure competitive pricing. We suggest a humanitarian initiative fund as well.”
