Over 500 patients served

Karbala medical team offers free services to patients in Tel Afar and Sinjar

NINEVEH, August 23 — A medical team from Karbala has provided free medical services to approximately 500 patients in the towns of Tel Afar and Sinjar, located west of Mosul.

Tel Afar and Sinjar districts lack psychiatric specialists and the shortage has led patients to seek treatment in Mosul and the Kurdistan region following numerous violent incidents in years past.

Ahmed Hassan, a medical team member, stated to 964: “The specialized medical team, led by Dr. Amer Al-Haidari, has provided free medical services to hundreds of patients in Tel Afar and Sinjar districts.”

“The team offered services to patients of both genders, particularly those who have been psychologically affected by the violent events that these cities have witnessed over the past two decades,” he said. “The team operated from the Sadiq Al-Ameen Cultural Center, affiliated with the Al-Hussein Shrine, and successfully provided a range of services to around 500 patients over two days.”

Hassan added: “The team, originating from Karbala, conducted free medical examinations, treatments, and referrals for the patients.”
