Authorities report large drug seizure in Anbar

ANBAR, August 22 — The Military Intelligence Forces announced on Tuesday that authorities had seized a large quantity of drugs, approximately 40 kilograms of heroin, in the Shamia Desert of Anbar Governorate.

Through a proactive operation and exceptional intelligence efforts, and based on precise intelligence from the Jazeera Operations Command of the Military Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with a reconnaissance unit, a substantial amount of drugs, around 40 kilograms of the narcotic substance heroin, was confiscated in the Shamia Desert area of Al-Jamsah in Anbar Governorate. The confiscated items were handled according to established protocols.
