New facilities, enhancements
Sulaymaniyah’s Hawari Shar Park renovated, ready for spring
SULAYMANIYAH—Fareedun Omer, the director of Hawari Shar Park in Sulaymaniyah, announced the park’s recent renovations and its readiness to welcome visitors for the spring season. The upgrades include new facilities and enhancements to existing amenities.
Omer told 964media that the park now features four additional toilet blocks, raising the total to ten sets of dual toilets. “We’ve completed the renovation work, which involved building toilets and adding several new benches. Only minor and detailed tasks remain,” he said.
The park’s water features, including ponds, waterfalls, and fountains, have been cleaned thoroughly. Measures to prevent springtime pests are in place, and trees that needed pruning or relocation have been addressed.
Spanning nearly 98.842 acres in the northwest of Sulaymaniyah city, Hawari Park has been further prepared for spring with the planting of 10,000 new saplings and the repair of fences. “The park is fully ready for spring, ensuring a welcoming environment for citizens to enjoy,” Omer noted.
