Sulaymaniyah plans new dam in Serchinar
SULAYMANIYAH — The Sulaymaniyah Tourism Directorate has unveiled plans to construct a new dam in the Serchinar area. This initiative aims to manage the waters of Serchinar, enhancing the region’s aesthetic appeal and bolstering water conservation efforts.
Aram Shwani, a spokesperson for Sulaymaniyah Tourism, detailed the plans to 964media, highlighting the development’s scope. “Key projects include widening Serchinar Street, creating numerous family-oriented spaces, and building a dam to regulate Serchinar’s water flow. The dam is envisioned to beautify the area and mitigate water waste from Serchinar,” he explained.
Shwani noted that the dam is currently in the master planning phase, with specifics regarding its size and capacity yet to be determined.
