Residents praise the initiative

Municipality teams start late-night street cleaning in Baghdad’s Al-Baya district

BAGHDAD, August 21 — Crews from Baghdad’s Al-Rashid Municipality are cleaning and washing streets in the Al-Baya First and Second areas from 10:00 PM into the late hours of the night.

The entire area has been thoroughly cleaned, with residents warmly welcoming this initiative and urging for continued maintenance. They also expressed their support for the municipal teams to ensure the area remains clean and free from waste.

Mustafa Yaser, a sanitation worker, told 964: “We conducted a significant campaign for 24 hours within Al-Baya district. The morning shift began by cleaning some of the side streets in the area, followed by the evening shift that washed the sidewalks and the street itself to present the area in a beautiful light.”

“Our teams and vehicles are in service for citizens around the clock, and cleaning campaigns are ongoing and will cover more areas. It’s up to citizens to maintain the cleanliness of the streets and the area to keep it beautiful and clean for the long term.”

Mohammed Jaafar, an area resident, called the work “a wonderful step by the municipal teams to serve citizens during late-night hours.”

“As residents of the area, we will cooperate with them to accomplish their work and maintain it.”
