Transitioning from paper-based processes

Halabja municipality embraces digital transformation to streamline citizen services

HALABJA – In a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles, the Halabja Municipality is undergoing a significant digital transformation, transitioning from paper-based processes to an electronic system for citizen transactions.

A team of experts from the Ministry of Municipalities recently visited Halabja to outline the implementation plan for the new system, which encompasses not only citizen interactions but also integrates all municipal departments with their respective ministries.

Mayor Salam Bilal expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its potential to significantly benefit residents. “This system will eventually eliminate the need for paper-based transactions altogether, moving us towards a fully digital future,” he told 964media.

The new system promises to simplify citizen interactions with the municipality, allowing them to track the progress of their applications and access services with greater transparency and ease. The integration of municipal departments with their ministries is expected to further streamline operations and improve communication.

The initial phase of implementation has already begun, and residents can expect to see a gradual shift towards digital transactions in the future.
