Egyptian investors express interest in Iraq’s infrastructure and pharmaceutical sectors

BAGHDAD – Wednesday, Egyptian investors expressed their interest in engaging with Iraq through available investment opportunities in infrastructure and the pharmaceutical industry. This expression of interest came during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani.

The prime minister’s office released a statement detailing Al-Sudani’s reception of a delegation of Egyptian businesspeople and investors specialized in infrastructure projects, housing sector, and pharmaceutical industry.

Al-Sudani welcomed the delegation, emphasizing Iraq’s commitment to sustaining and expanding bilateral cooperation with Egypt and its private sector. This comes as a result of ongoing mutual visits and the activation of joint committees, reflecting Iraq’s economic openness to the Arab world and the international community, and its willingness to cooperate with major Arab and foreign companies.

Members of the Egyptian delegation expressed their desire to work in Iraq, leveraging the investment opportunities in infrastructure and pharmaceuticals. They showed interest in collaborating with the Iraqi private sector and building economic partnerships that benefit both nations.

The Iraqi health ministry announced last week a significant rise in domestic pharmaceutical production.
