Exhibition for 17 artists at Wasit university

WASIT — Seventeen artists and painters from the “Tadad” Cultural and Arts Association have organized an art exhibition at the College of Fine Arts at Wasit University. This event is part of an artistic initiative that travels across Iraqi governorates to foster “artistic communication” among the association’s members throughout the country.

Shurouq Amer, a member of the Contrast Association in Wasit, told 964media, “The Contrast Cultural and Arts Association comprises artists from various Iraqi provinces, organizing art trips to hold exhibitions across the country. This time, the journey has brought us to Wasit and Maysan. Today, we welcomed 17 Iraqi painters and artists at the College of Fine Arts at Wasit University, where an exhibition featuring 40 paintings was held, with plans to move next to Maysan for a similar exhibition.”

Ali Al-Mawla, Dean of the College of Fine Arts, expressed the college’s enthusiasm in hosting Iraqi artists from different governorates, highlighting the event as an extension of the college’s activities to support artistic talents and engage with the community. “Most participants in this activity are natural or folk artists, including doctors, engineers, and members from various community sectors. It’s essential for the university, as an academic institution, to embrace and interact with such initiatives,” he said.
