Erbil Traffic Directorate to begin testing average speed cameras

ERBIL, Iraq — The Erbil Traffic Directorate has initiated tests for average – or ‘point to Point’ – speed cameras on the road to Mosul, with enforcement of speed violations set to begin at noon on the upcoming Monday.

In a statement translated by 964media, the Directorate announced the installation of speed cameras from Erbil to the Khabat District, starting opposite Sebe City and extending to Korgosk.

The testing period for these cameras will conclude at noon on Feb. 12, 2024, at which time the recording of speed violations will start. Speed limits have been set at 100 km/h for cars and 80 km/h for trucks.
