Man found dead in Basra’s Al-Salam

BASRA, Iraq – A security source on Saturday reported the discovery of a man’s body, believed to be in his 70s, on one of the main streets in the Al-Salam neighborhood of the Qurna district, north of Basra.

The source told 964media that workers alerted security forces about a body on the side of the road in central Qurna, on the road leading to the Al-Midaina district.

The body showed signs of head trauma. Security forces have begun an investigation. The body was moved to the forensic medicine department.

No identification was found on the body, leaving the man’s identity unknown.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances of the death and identify the victim.
