Family of late Saadullah Parosh donates extensive book collection to Erbil library

ERBIL, January 31 — The family of celebrated Kurdish writer Saadullah Parosh presented a large collection of his books to the Erbil Public Library on Wednesday.

Parosh, who authored several books and collections of poetry, was a prominent writer and poet in the Kurdistan Region. Born in Erbil in 1950, he died on October 29, 2020 after battling COVID-19.

Library head Naz Falakadin Kakayi told 964media the family’s donation was received in a ceremony, adding, “We have already dedicated a section in the library in honor of Saadullah Parosh, and we plan to establish a special hall named after him in the future.”

The donated collection includes more than a thousand books in Kurdish, Arabic, including all of Parosh’s own published works.
