Fraudulent medical claims

Two cosmetic surgery centers in Duhok closed by authorities

DUHOK, January 30 — Two women’s cosmetic surgery centers in Duhok have been shut down by security forces after employees were discovered falsely representing themselves as doctors without valid medical degrees, according to a statement from the Duhok Security Directorate.

The closures, executed under a judicial order in collaboration with the Kurdistan Doctors’ Syndicate’s Duhok branch, followed multiple complaints from residents.

The incident reflects a broader trend, as the surge in cosmetic surgery in recent years has presented increasing regulatory challenges for authorities.
