Five suspects arrested for string of robberies in Baghdad’s Husseiniya Al-Zuhur district

BAGHDAD, January 30 – Five robbery suspects were arrested for a string of burglaries in the Husseiniya Al-Zuhur area of the capital, Baghdad, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday.

The ministry said an investigation led by the Baghdad Criminal Investigation Directorate led to the arrest of one suspect who confessed to stealing cash, electronics, and other belongings from empty residences.

The individual further admitted to illegal drug use, implicating the other four suspects who were subsequently arrested.

The suspects were presented before a judge who ordered their detention under Article 444 of the Penal Code.
