Iraqi interior minister inaugurates concrete barrier on Syrian border

ANBAR, January 28 – Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari on Sunday announced the completion of a concrete border wall between Iraq and Syria in Baghouz, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari inaugurated a concrete barrier today, Sunday, in the Baghouz area on the Iraqi-Syrian border. The ceremony was attended by the commander of border forces and several security leaders. This barrier, part of a series of significant security fortifications undertaken by the Ministry of Interior, aims to enhance border security. These measures have been instrumental in controlling the Iraqi-Syrian border, preventing smuggling activities, and combating ISIS terrorist groups.

During his visit, Minister Al-Shammari toured several border security posts, commending the leadership of the border forces and recognizing their crucial role as the first line of defense for Iraq.
