Light dust, stable conditions forecast across Iraq
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Meteorological Authority on Friday forecast clear weather across the country over the next four days, with light dust expected at intervals and temperatures varying between regions.
According to a statement issued by the authority, Saturday’s weather will be clear nationwide, with temperatures remaining similar to those recorded the previous day.
Forecast high temperatures for Saturday are expected to reach 36°C in Sulaymaniyah, 37°C in Duhok and Nineveh, 38°C in Erbil, 40°C in Anbar, 41°C in Kirkuk and Diyala, and 42°C in Baghdad, Salah al-Din, Karbala and Babil.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 44°C in Najaf, Wasit, Diwaniyah and Maysan, 46°C in Dhi Qar and Muthanna, and 47°C in Basra.
The authority said Sunday will also be clear across the country, with light to moderate northwesterly winds becoming active at times during the day and causing light dust. Temperatures are expected to remain near Saturday’s levels.
On Monday, clear conditions are expected to continue, while temperatures will decline slightly compared with the previous day.
Tuesday’s forecast indicates clear weather nationwide, with light to moderate northwesterly winds becoming active in eastern parts of central and southern Iraq, causing light dust. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly in the central and northern regions and remain stable in the south.
