U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to visit Baghdad

BAGHDAD, November 5 — Fadi Al-Shamri, an advisor to the Prime Minister, confirmed on Sunday that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit the capital, Baghdad, later in the day and meet with the Prime Minister.

A government source indicated that the guest’s discussions would focus on the Gaza conflict and the targeting of American forces and bases in Iraq.

Al-Shamri told Network 964 that Blinken is set to arrive in Baghdad on Sunday evening and meet with the Prime Minister, without providing further details about the visit’s agenda.

However, a source in the Prime Minister’s office confirmed to Network 964 that Blinken’s visit will be “brief,” during which he will discuss two important issues with several Iraqi officials: the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the targeting of American forces and bases in Iraq.
