Iran lifts ban on border crossings via private vehicles
SULAYMANIYAH, August 10 – Iran will now permit citizens of the Kurdistan region to enter its territories via private vehicles through the Parviz Khan border crossing, provided they have a guarantee from a notary.
Iranian officials issued a ban on travel into the Islamic republic via private cars on July 25 through the Bashmakh, Haji Omaran, and Parviz Khan border gates due to issues related to insurance and legal matters.
Abbas Ismail, an official at Parviz Khan, told 964: “We convinced the Iranian side to allow citizens of Kurdistan to visit Iran in their private cars, provided they obtain a guarantor from a notary. Previously, only a customs book was sufficient to pass the border.”
