Attack is "deliberate and dangerous escalation"

PMF: Ready to follow PM commands to protect national sovereignty

BAGHDAD, January 4 — In response to the recent drone attack on one of their headquarters in Baghdad, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have declared their readiness to act upon any orders from the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The statement from the PMF reads:

The Popular Mobilization Forces: We confirm our readiness to execute any order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces that preserves the sovereignty of Iraq, its territorial unity, and the safety of its people.

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Once again, the aggression is renewed against the official security headquarters by the attacking American forces targeting a headquarters belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces through a drone this Thursday.
This criminal act is a clear violation and challenge to Iraqi sovereignty and the security authorities linked to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and it undermines all laws and international norms.
This deliberate and dangerous escalation expresses an explicit determination to violate Iraqi sovereignty and enforceable law, and it is a contempt for Iraqi blood and the dignity of Iraqis.
Here we confirm the readiness of the Popular Mobilization Forces to execute any order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces that preserves the sovereignty of Iraq, its territorial unity, and the safety of its people.
Mercy and eternity for the martyrs of the criminal attack and a speedy recovery for the wounded heroes.
